i-DOS with Detergent Scan – precise dosing based on the detergent used
Bosch washing machines with the i-DOS automatic dosing system automatically set the precise amount of detergent, with millilitre accuracy. Thanks to this precise dosing, the system helps protect your laundry from excessive detergent and contributes to efficient detergent use.
Automatic i-DOS dosing – no manual measuring
The i-DOS system automatically dispenses detergent and fabric softener according to the needs of each specific wash. It uses only the necessary amount, saving you from having to pour it in for every programme. More precise dosing also helps reduce excess water consumption from rinsing away surplus detergent.
Steam treatment – fewer creases in 20 minutes
The Steam Treatment programme gently treats laundry with steam in a separate twenty-minute cycle. You can use it for freshly washed and dried clothes, or for a creased shirt or trousers you've worn. The function reduces creasing by up to 50% and can significantly shorten your subsequent ironing time.
Mini Load – economical washing for a few items
Need to quickly wash a single T-shirt or another very small load? The Mini Load function is designed for individual items and laundry loads up to 0.5kg. Compared to a standard programme, it can reduce energy consumption by up to 40%, so you don't have to wait to fill the entire drum.
Home Connect – easier programme selection and remote control
The Home Connect app lets you remotely check your washing machine, monitor the programme's progress, and manage available functions. The Easy Start Guide recommends a suitable programme based on the laundry's colour, material type, and level of soiling. Automatic notifications also keep you informed about the current wash status, so you don't have to repeatedly check the appliance.
Smart Start, smart service, and voice control
With the Smart Start function, your connected appliances automatically select a start time to make the best use of available energy resources. This could be when there is maximum energy availability from your photovoltaic system, or according to your lowest energy prices depending on the time of day.
Energy efficiency A
Thanks to their energy management system, Bosch washing machines achieve the highest energy class A, ensuring efficient laundry washing.
Active Water Plus – water according to the actual load
Our Active Water Plus technology delivers perfect results while using only the necessary amount of water for each wash. Thanks to its highly efficient water management technology, the exact laundry load is automatically detected, and water consumption is adjusted accordingly. Save up to 50% of water when washing smaller loads.
Speed Perfect – clean laundry up to 65% faster
The Speed Perfect function reduces washing time by up to 65% and can be combined with most programmes. It saves time without compromising on the desired result. For example, when combined with the Mix programme, it can thoroughly wash up to 4kg of mixed laundry in just 46 minutes.
Anti Stain – targets 16 types of stain
The Anti Stain system can target 16 types of stubborn stains, such as grease, blood, cosmetics, or tea. The washing machine automatically adjusts the temperature, drum movement, and soaking time according to the selected type of stain, so you don't have to search for the right settings yourself.
Reload – you can add forgotten laundry
A forgotten sock or T-shirt can be added after the programme has started, under the right conditions. Press the Reload button to pause the cycle, open the door, and add or remove laundry. You can then continue with the selected wash.
AquaStop – protection against water damage
The AquaStop system uses a double-walled inlet hose, a safety valve, and a floor tray with a float switch. It protects against water leaks at the inlet and inside the appliance. Bosch provides a warranty against water damage for the lifetime of the appliance with the AquaStop system.
Vario drum with a 10kg capacity
Siemens washing machines have a 10kg capacity and are equipped with a wide range of features to meet your expectations. Whether you're washing bulkier loads or larger items, you will always achieve excellent results.
Automatic programmes – washing without complicated settings
Automatic programmes adapt the wash cycle to the fabric type and the level of soiling. Simply fill the drum and start your chosen automatic programme. The washing machine will then adjust the key cycle parameters itself.
Hygiene Plus – hygienic results at 40°C
The Hygiene Plus programme maintains a constant temperature during the cycle and adds an extra rinse. When washing at 40°C, it removes 99.99% of common germs and is also effective against dust mites found in household dust.
Vario Drum – effective and gentle washing
The patented Vario Drum structure distributes water evenly and adapts the laundry's movement according to the direction of rotation. The droplet-shaped surface and asymmetrical paddles gently guide fabrics towards the centre. The drum can thoroughly wash heavily soiled clothes while gently caring for more delicate materials.
Anti-vibration side panels – more stable and quieter operation
Specially designed side walls help to increase the appliance's stability and reduce the transfer of vibrations. The improved insulation also reduces operating noise. This keeps the washing machine quieter, even during high-speed spin cycles.
Touch Control – easy cycle customisation
The Touch Control buttons let you conveniently change the wash programme settings. Intuitive operation makes it easy to customise the cycle without the hassle of traditional mechanical controls.
Delay start – laundry ready at the right time
You can schedule the start of the wash programme to fit your daily routine. Set the time you want your laundry to be ready within the next 24 hours. This means you can have the machine run overnight and take the laundry out first thing in the morning.
Sport/Fitness programme – care for sportswear
The Sport/Fitness programme is designed for technical and sports fabrics and uses low temperatures, from cold wash up to 40°C. Short rinse and spin phases help to reduce creasing in delicate sportswear.

Is it possible to change the door opening direction on the washing machine?
On the vast majority of front-loading washing machines, the door opening direction cannot be reversed, since the door hinge is permanently built into the front panel and tied to the electromagnetic safety lock. Reversible doors are more common on dryers or certain premium models.
Is it possible to remove the top panel?
On modern washing machines, the top panel cannot be removed for undercounter installation, as it provides protection against moisture and electrical hazards. These machines are designed to stand freely or fit under a sufficiently high countertop (85 cm).
The control of the washing machine is locked and the key symbol (child lock) is illuminated.
The child lock is active. To turn it off, press and hold the "Ready in" and "Spin speed" buttons — or the button marked with a key/3s icon — together for about 3 seconds. The machine will beep and the key symbol will go out.
Is it better to have a washing machine with or without i-DOS?
A washing machine with i-DOS (automatic dosing) is the better choice. It detects the load size, fabric type, and soil level, then doses detergent down to the milliliter. This can save up to 38% of water use and a significant amount of detergent each year, while helping prevent stains and residue buildup in the drum.
Can I use powdered detergent with a washing machine with i-DOS?
Yes, powdered detergent can be used, but it can't be dosed automatically. It needs to go manually into the compartment designated for manual dosing in the drawer, while the automatic i-DOS chambers are meant only for liquid detergent and softener.
i-DOS automatic dosing does not dispense detergent (in general).
Check whether the i-DOS function is switched on for that chamber on the control panel (look for the lit icon). Also check that the detergent isn't too thick — it can be diluted slightly with water — and that the drawer's suction valves aren't clogged; it's best to remove the drawer and rinse it thoroughly with warm water.
The washing machine does not dispense fabric softener.
For manual dosing, check whether the cap or siphon in the softener compartment is blocked — remove the drawer and rinse it with warm water. With i-DOS, make sure the chamber is set in the machine's menu to dispense softener (not a second detergent) and that dosing is switched on.
I am having trouble unscrewing the bottom filter for objects.
The filter is often blocked by limescale, lint, or a foreign object such as a coin. Avoid using excessive force, as this can strip the plastic thread. Try gently working it loose by turning it back and forth, or carefully use pliers with a cloth for grip. If the problem persists, it's best to contact authorized service.
How do I drain the water from the washing machine and open the locked door (if the program did not complete and ended with an error)?
Unplug the machine from the power supply. Open the small service panel at the bottom and drain the water into a container using the small emergency drain hose. Then pull the emergency release cord (usually a black or blue plastic tab) downward to mechanically unlock the door so it can be opened.
What are the dimensions of the washing machine?
Standard front-loading washing machines measure roughly 85 cm in height, 60 cm in width, and 55–60 cm in depth.
The washing machine jumps during the spin cycle.
This is most often caused by not removing the transit bolts on the back of the machine after unboxing. If they were removed, check that the machine is properly leveled on its adjustable feet and stands firmly on a stable floor. An overloaded drum or a single bulky item (like a blanket) causing an uneven load can also be the cause.
The laundry doesn't smell fresh after washing.
This usually happens due to bacteria and mold buildup inside the machine from frequent washing at low temperatures (30–40 °C). Run the Drum Clean program or an intensive 90 °C cycle with a washing machine cleaner and no laundry. After each wash, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open.
What is the duration of each program?
Duration depends on the selected program and load size. Eco 40-60 usually takes the longest, around 3 to 3.5 hours, to maximize energy and water savings. Quick programs (Super 15'/30') take 15 to 30 minutes, while a standard Cotton 40 °C program runs about 2 to 2.5 hours.
Can I place a dryer on top of the washing machine?
Yes, this is possible and a popular space-saving setup. A dryer can be placed on top of a front-loading washing machine that's at least 55 cm deep. For safe installation, it's essential to use an original stacking kit, which may also include a handy pull-out shelf.
Why does the program time lengthen or shorten?
Washing machines are equipped with smart sensors (such as ActiveWater Plus) that monitor load size, fabric absorbency, and foam levels. If a smaller load is detected, the time is shortened dynamically. If there's excess foam or an unbalanced load, the machine adds extra rinses or tries to redistribute the laundry, which extends the time instead.
Can the water and drain connections of the washing machine be extended?
Yes. The AquaStop inlet hose can't be extended with a regular hose — an original extension kit (code WMZ2381 / WMZ20490), 2.5 meters long, must be used instead. The drain hose can be extended using a standard connector and extension hose, up to a maximum total length of 4 meters.
