Switch fights to turn mode
The combat system further develops the mechanics known from Trails through Daybreak and adds the greatest level of flexibility yet. Dynamic Field Battles engage you in real-time action, while Command Battles let you switch into turn-based mode and think through every move. New Shard Commands and S-Boosts greatly expand tactical options, with each character and holo core having its own unique abilities that can be combined to suit your play style.

Slow down time or let the power build up
Other notable new features include abilities like Awakening, which allows selected characters to temporarily unlock a massive power boost, and Z. O. C., which allows you to slow down time and crush enemies with a quick series of attacks. Not only the attack power is increased, but also the ability to stun even heavily armored opponents. In addition to the main story, you can gather allies from all over Calvard and face the intrigues of the Ouroboros in the Grim Garten, a special dungeon where you can build your own team and test your skills to the full.
