Metrie Slimboy folding tape measure, 2 m, Nordic birch
The Metrie 2 m Slimboy folding tape measure is made of Nordic birch wood with a clear lacquer finish. Its 2.3 mm narrow blades and black steel joints with hardened spring are synonymous with traditional craftsmanship. It is the only folding tape measure with a three-colour scale. The Slimboy folding tape measure has narrow slats that are one-third thinner than those of conventional folding tape measures. The design of the joint is based on the PROFI technology, but with a modified geometry of the primary steel castings. These are not treated with brassing but with manganese phosphating, which gives them a characteristic black appearance, very good corrosion resistance and excellent sliding properties.

Finnish birch wood slats
The slats of the Slimboy folding tape measure are made of Finnish birch wood and protected with two layers of colourless WB-lacquer. The use of birch wood gives the meter more flexibility than, for example, the beech wood of traditional folding meters. The scale is printed with a three-colour pattern and finally protected with a water-based UV varnish. The Slimboy folding tape measure is designed primarily for more precise and finer measurements, especially in the joinery and furniture industry. Being a third thinner than a conventional folding tape measure, it is also "easier to use" and takes up less space in the craftsman's pocket. Its unique slenderness and the contrast between black steel and lacquered wood make it very popular also as a promotional item.
