Data security
The drive protects your stored content from unauthorised access with a password that you set in the included software. Data protection is handled by built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption, the same method used by government institutions. Because the encryption happens directly at the drive's hardware level, it doesn't affect your computer's performance. This keeps your private files protected even if the drive is lost or stolen.
Automated backup
The product includes Acronis True Image for Western Digital software, which simplifies the backup process. In the tool, you can schedule regular file backups to suit your needs, for example, on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The software also performs automatic backups and protection against ransomware attacks, preventing data loss. You can configure all settings in the clear user interface.
External drive construction
The 2.5" portable HDD's construction is designed to withstand the demands of daily use on the go. Its casing is made from over 50% recycled plastic sourced from post-consumer products. Manufacturing with recycled materials reduces the environmental impact. The packaging material is also made from over 50% recycled paper and is fully recyclable.
