QNAP QWA-AC2600

QNAP QWA-AC2600
Turn your Ubuntu/Linux PC or QNAP NAS into a high-performance, ultra-secure WiFi access point or base station. The QNAP QWA-AC2600 is a low-profile PCI Express 2.0 ×1 card that supports modern network communication standards. For the user, this means transmission speeds of up to 2533Mbps, split into 800Mbps on the 2.4GHz band (802.11n) and 1733Mbps on the 5GHz band (802.11ac). Thanks to 4×4 MIMO, it can provide a connection to multiple users at once. It ensures a strong signal thanks to a station with 4 antennas, which can be swapped for others (RP-SMA connector). The compact wireless adapter with active cooling offers a reliable solution for creating a private wireless network. It is powered directly from the PCIe slot of the host device.
Key features of the QNAP QWA-AC2600 WiFi Access Point
- Access point or base station (DHCP and NAT)
- Speeds up to 2533Mbps (800 + 1733Mbps)
- Communication with multiple clients (4×4 MIMO)
- 4 detachable 5dBi antennas on the base
- Consistently high performance thanks to temperature-based cooling
- Universal RP-SMA connectors for antenna replacement
Wi-Fi connectivity and speed
The QNAP QWA-AC2 WiFi Access Point is a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 standard access point. It supports 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, and 802.11ac standards. The device transmits on two bands simultaneously and effectively reduces mutual interference in the network. It operates at 800Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. For efficient communication with a larger number of clients, it uses 4×4 MU-MIMO technology with four spatial streams. This provides users with smooth data transfer without unnecessary delays.
Antennas
Stable coverage is ensured by four detachable omnidirectional antennas with a gain of 5.0dBi. The antennas connect via universal RP-SMA connectors, which make them easy to replace with other types if needed. The package also includes a magnetic base with an 80cm long high-frequency cable. The stand helps to optimally position the antennas for better signal propagation in the room and the elimination of dead zones.
Správa a operační systémy
The device requires installation in a computer running Ubuntu/Linux or a compatible QNAP NAS storage device. The WirelessAP Station application, which requires the Container Station tool, is used to manage the wireless network on the NAS. An integrated firewall protects network traffic from unauthorised access from the outside environment. The ath10k driver is already part of the Ubuntu system from version 17.10, which simplifies commissioning on a PC.
Connectivity options
The wireless adapter installs directly into a PCI Express 2.0 ×1 slot in a computer or NAS. A physical connection to the network is ensured without the need for an external power supply, as the card draws power directly from the bus. Universal RP-SMA type connectors are used for connecting external antennas.
