Seagate Exos X24 20TB 512E/4KN Standard SATA
The Seagate Exos X24 20TB 512E/4KN Standard SATA hard disk is one of the high load internal HDDs for the NAS storage solution environment. The 3.5" format is designed mainly for data centres and desktop PCs. One of the most important parameters is undoubtedly the rotational speed (RPM). The 7200 rev/min RPM provides faster data transmission. The hard disk provides a storage capacity of 20000 GB. The device uses a 512 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Seagate hard disk and other hardware is facilitated using the SATA III interface.
Seagate Exos X24 20TB 512E/4KN Standard SATA HDD Key Features
- Read speed up to 285 MB/s and write speed up to 285 MB/s
- 512 MB memory cache
- Seagate 3.5" drive for standard bays
- Maximum power draw 8,9 W
- It communicates with a PC or other devices through the SATA III interface
Other HDD Features
Platter HDDs have a special construction. Inside the drive there is a mechanism that uses moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that facilitate reading and writing of data. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but this weak point is well-compensated by an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The crucial parameter that determines the speed of a hard disk is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). In case of the Seagate Exos X24 20TB 512E/4KN Standard SATA, you get 7200 rev/min revolutions per minute. It's a great model for more demanding users, such as graphic designers, gamers, video editors, and people who tend to use large amounts of data. Data transmission and stability is also determined the embedded buffer memory known as cache. The Seagate HDD features a 512 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their fast retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Seagate HDD
In order to mount the Seagate Exos X24 20TB 512E/4KN Standard SATA in your PC or other device, it requires a 3.5" slot. All communication with the computer happens through the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. This technology ranks among the most popular HDD data transfer options available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.
