SIRUI Astra Series 50mm T1.8 1.33X Full-frame Anamorphic Cine Lens (E Mount, Neutral Flare)
The SIRUI Astra Series 50mm T1.8 1.33X Full-frame Anamorphic Cine Lens (E Mount, Neutral Flare), with a focal length of 50mm, is used for shooting wide-angle film shots on mirrorless cameras with a Sony E mount. This optical system uses a constant squeeze factor of 1.33×, which creates a wide-angle 2.4:1 aspect ratio on both Full Frame and APS-C sensors without loss of resolution. The optical design combines autofocus with a T1.8 aperture for creating content in low-light conditions. The minimum focusing distance is 50cm, and the lens produces neutral horizontal flares. The all-metal construction features triple protection against raindrops, dust, and dirt in challenging terrain. All lenses in this series share the same gear ring placement for quick changes without the need to readjust follow focus systems.

Fast Autofocus
The focusing system, with its quiet STM stepping motor, provides stable and smooth tracking of selected subjects. When working with dynamic scenes, camera operators can switch between autofocus and manual focus by pressing a single physical AF/MF button on the lens barrel. This mechanical element is located directly on the side of the lens and speeds up the response to changes in the scene being captured. The autofocus works reliably for both video shooting and portrait photography.
Aperture and Working with Light
An aperture range of T1.8 to T22 helps when shooting in dark interiors or during evening exteriors without needing to increase the sensor's sensitivity. Setting low aperture values creates a very shallow depth of field for effectively separating the main subject from the background. The out-of-focus areas acquire a characteristic oval shape with a vertical stretching of light sources, which complements the overall cinematic look of the shot.
Practical Control Elements
The aperture ring offers the option to switch between smooth, de-clicked operation for video and a clicked mode for photography. The programmable FN button speeds up adjustments by assigning a selected function according to the camera operator's needs. An aperture lock prevents the set value from unintentionally shifting outside the automatic A mode or the manual range. The body also features a dual focusing scale in metres and feet.
Optical Properties of the SIRUI Astra Lens
The lens system includes aspherical elements that suppress distortion and maintain sharpness across the entire frame. The front thread, with a diameter of 67mm and an outer diameter of 72mm, is used for the direct mounting of circular filters without the need for step-down rings. The optics create prominent horizontal flares with a neutral colour rendition.
