How to set binding on the SNB?
Most drivers know if they are riding with the left foot forward (regular) or right foot(goofy). And if not, just take a slide on the frozen puddle, and you're clear.
What angle to set? Do not be afraid of the duck style!
Frequently used angle for a ride in the park and on the slopes is 15 ° on the front foot and -15 ° on the back foot. Such a position where the rear leg has a negative angle, is called the duck. It has been used for years and even in the teaching courses, the methodology in snowboarding refers to the style with such attitude. Some people find more convenient larger angle at the front (for example 18 ° or 21 °) and slightly milder at the back (-12 ° or -6 °). Definitely do not be afraid of the negative angle at the back, this gives you greater stability and facilitate driving backwards.
Beware of the overlap of the boot
After mounting the bindings, you must check whether the toe and heel extends over the edge of the board about the same. If not, you need to fix it. Binding disks can be rotated so that the screw slots are set to the direction of travel, and then carefully tune the overlap of the shoes.
Lower buckle over the tip or over the instep?
Most bindings allow the use of lower buckle both ways. Do not be afraid to try to tighten the buckle across the instep - this allows you to better feel the board.
How far apart should the binding be set up?
Generally, wide stance fit is for Freestyle and larger stature, narrower one is for shorter riders and ride on the slopes. When a meter of powder snow falls, do not hesitate to change front and rear binding as far back as possible. The tip will be longer and ride in powder snow easier and more enjoyable.
