Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD for Sony E
The 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) is a versatile zoom lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensor and Sony E mount. It is a lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras with a zoom ratio of 16.6× and a focal length of 18-300 mm (equivalent to 27-450 mm on a full-frame sensor). With the ability to zoom from wide-angle to ultra-telephoto, it covers a wide range of shooting situations, including landscapes, sports, nature, snapshots and portraits. The compact design of the lens makes it easy to carry on a daily basis, making it ideal for travel and family activities. With a minimum focusing distance (MOD) of 0.15 m at the wide end and a maximum magnification of 1 : 2 allows you to photograph subjects from a unique perspective. In addition, autofocus is very fast and accurate thanks to the precise and fast VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor. For stable images, the lens is equipped with Tamron's proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) system.

Versatile zoom lens for mirrorless cameras
The ultra-compact design of the TAMRON 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD weighs approximately 620g. As with most other TAMRON mirrorless lenses, the filter size is unified at 67mm, making the lens easy to use in any situation and ideal for all-day wear.
Fast and accurate autofocus
The 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 VC VXD is a zoom lens with speed, precision and response among the best in its category of versatile zoom lenses, thanks to TAMRON's VXD linear motor. Even at an ultra-telephoto focal length of 300mm (equivalent to 450mm on full-frame), it focuses comfortably from minimum distance to infinity. Its object tracking is so effective that it allows you to capture crucial moments when photographing insects, animals, vehicles or other moving objects.
Maximum magnification ratio 1 : 2
At the wide end of 18 mm, the MOD 0.15 m lens achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1 : 2. With an incredible working distance of 5 mm (0.2 in)*, you can get as close as you want to your subject and capture the background at the same time. The lens thus opens the door to a style of expression that is characteristic of wide-angle macro photography.
*When shooting with a MOD of 0.15 m at the wide end, the distance between the subject and the front of the lens is approximately 5 mm (0.2 in). Be careful that the front member of the lens does not touch the subject when shooting with the MOD.
Unwavering optical quality throughout the zoom range
The optical design includes several special optical elements, namely four LD (Low Dispersion) and three hybrid aspherical optical elements. The members help produce clean and sharp images from the center to the corners. Chromatic aberrations and other optical defects are thus well corrected. In addition, the BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) surface treatment suppresses the appearance of veils and glare commonly found in backlighting. Throughout the zoom range, the 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 VC VXD delivers high image quality and soft, creamy bokeh.
Equipped with TAMRON's own VC stabilisation system
The lens is equipped with TAMRON's VC stabilization mechanism, which minimizes the effects of camera shake that are likely to occur when used in the telephoto range. It shows its ability when shooting handheld in low light conditions, such as indoors or at night. Effectively reduces image quality degradation. Using AI technology, the lens selects the nature of compensation for shooting videos at focal lengths of 70mm or less.
Linear focus motor for the highest level of autofocus speed and accuracy
The VXD is a linear focus motor that allows you to easily achieve focus from MOD (minimum focus distance) to infinity, even at low apertures, thanks to its speed and accuracy. Focus tracking is also extremely accurate, so you can capture sudden movements of your subject. The Linear Motor also suppresses noise and vibration during focusing, making it ideal for shooting still images and video in environments where silence is required.
Circular aperture and LD elements for chromatic aberration reduction
The aperture of the TAMRON 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD is designed to maintain a smooth, circular shape even when stopped down two stops from full aperture. This creates a softly blurred background with a nice bokeh. LD members help reduce chromatic aberration, which reduces image sharpness. Glass with a low dispersion index has less tendency to split the light rays into a spectrum of colours, which allows effective compensation for longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration, which is a problem especially with wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
Zoom Lock switch
The Zoom Lock switch prevents unintentional lens barrel extension (creep) when carrying the camera with the lens on the neck strap. This increases safety when carrying the camera in the field and helps protect the lens.
Fluorine coating to repel water and grease
The fluorine coating with high resistance and repellency to water and grease easily cleans the lens surface and protects it from dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints, ensuring long-term protection for your important lenses. For better protection when shooting outdoors, the TAMRON 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD lens is also equipped with a moisture seal. *
*The construction is moisture-resistant, but does not provide complete watertightness.
