Ubiquiti airMax Horn 60°

Ubiquiti airMax Horn 60°
The Ubiquiti airMax Horn 60° WiFi antenna transmits a wireless signal in the supported 5.15 to 5.85GHz frequency band. This directional outdoor antenna has a 60° beamwidth and uses dual linear polarisation for a stable wireless connection over selected distances. Its asymmetrical design naturally suppresses unwanted side and back radiation, which prevents mutual interference from surrounding transmitters. The device weighs 0.72kg and boasts a solid mechanical construction. Users get a reliable component for creating stable Point-to-Point or Point-to-MultiPoint wireless links.
Key features of the Ubiquiti airMax Horn 60° WiFi antenna
- Supports the 5GHz frequency band
- Designed for outdoor use
- Directional antenna type using dual linear polarisation
- Offers a 60° beamwidth
- Modular design for easy antenna element replacement with a button
- Improves performance when installing multiple antennas in one location
- Provides isolation for airFiber LTU and airMAX horn antenna elements
Advanced co-location
The asymmetrical shape of the horn antenna attenuates the side lobes and minimises back radiation in the given band. This design feature increases overall performance when installing multiple sector antennas on a single mast. The antenna has a significant front-to-back ratio, which reduces the noise level in densely populated locations. This allows users to operate a higher density of sectors without mutual signal interference. The cross-polarisation isolation is 17dB, further improving the insulation properties in challenging conditions.
Modular design
Interchangeable antenna elements make it easy to precisely shape the radiation beam according to the conditions at the installation site. The modular system enables flexible sectorisation with optional beamwidths from 30° to 90°. Users can easily change antennas using the mechanical release button on the device's body. The system simplifies adapting the wireless path for specific deployment needs and the surrounding environment without having to dismantle the entire transmitting device.
Compatibility with radio units and radiation parameters
The device works closely with selected Ubiquiti radio units for the 5GHz band. Fully supported models include the airFiber LTU AF-LTU and the IsoStation IS-5AC client stations. The system is also designed for direct connection to IsoStation IS-M5 and PrismStation PS-5AC radio units. This setup creates highly stable wireless links in a Point-to-MultiPoint topology, where the PrismStation 5AC acts as an access point communicating with IsoStation 5AC client units. The beamwidth in both the horizontal and vertical planes is an identical 60°. An antenna gain of 16dBi contributes to efficient signal propagation in the supported 5.15 to 5.85GHz frequency band. The beam elevation is 30° for effective coverage of the target area. The VSWR value does not exceed a 2:1 ratio across the entire operating spectrum. These precisely defined radiation characteristics ensure effective signal distribution in the desired direction.
Durability in outdoor environments
With dimensions of 161.6 × 173.3 × 170.9mm, the construction reliably withstands adverse weather conditions for outdoor use. The antenna can handle a mechanical wind load of up to 200km/h, which corresponds to a wind load of 50N. These mechanical properties contribute to the long-term stability of the directional setting and eliminate service outages caused by mast deflection. The durable design prevents damage to the internal high-frequency circuits from external climatic conditions.
