The Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-HD WiFi access point operates as an 802.11ac Wave 2 standard access point with support for a dual-band network and a total wireless transfer speed of up to 2533Mbps. The device uses MU-MIMO technology and 4×4 spatial streams for efficient communication with multiple connected devices simultaneously. Centralised management is handled by the UniFi Controller software, eliminating the need for complex setup on each individual device. Measuring 4.81 × 22 × 22cm and weighing 700g, its design allows for easy mounting on both walls and ceilings.

Wireless connection and speed
The wireless network operates on two frequency bands with a total transfer speed of 2533Mbps. MU-MIMO 4×4 technology transmits a signal to several devices simultaneously. Eight integrated high-gain antennas help maintain a stable connection. The device uses additional features like airtime fairness and band steering to optimise traffic.
Mesh and network capacity of the WiFi access point
Wireless Uplink functionality creates a unified network with extended range by allowing one wired access point to support up to four wireless downstreams. The recommended number of concurrently connected users is 350, compared to just 70 for the older UniFi AC Pro AP. Linking multiple access points under a single network name simplifies roaming for users without any dropouts. The system's theoretical limit allows for up to 600 clients to be connected.
Wireless network security
Transmitted data is protected using modern WPA2 and WPA-Enterprise encryption standards. The system supports the creation of up to 8 separate SSIDs for different user groups. A separate guest network with its own login portal enhances overall security. Administrators can set speed limits and monitor traffic statistics.
Connectivity options
Physical network connection is provided by two ethernet ports with speeds of 10/100/1000Mbps. Power is supplied via the PoE+ 802.3at standard with a 17W consumption or by using the included 48V, 0.5A gigabit PoE adapter. The second ethernet port is used for bridging to other network elements.
