The WD Gold 12TB hard drive addresses the need for high-capacity storage in demanding server environments and enterprise systems. With a capacity of 12TB in a standard 3.5" format, it efficiently manages large datasets, corporate databases, and archives in data centres and network-attached storage (NAS) systems. For integration into both existing and new systems, it uses a SATA III interface with a transfer speed of 6Gb/s. The drive's construction supports continuous operation and handles high workloads. The 12TB of storage space meets the growing data storage demands of the enterprise sector and data centres. This capacity is designed for centralised storage, critical information backup systems, virtual machine operation, and storing large volumes of unstructured data. It consolidates data from multiple sources into a single location, simplifying the management of the entire data infrastructure and reducing the number of physical drives required in server racks.
This drive is optimised for continuous operation in server and data centre environments. The manufacturer selects all drive components, from the motor to the read heads, for high durability and long-term reliability even under heavy load. The drive's design ensures constant data availability while maintaining high performance and system stability, which is a fundamental requirement for enterprise applications. In multi-drive network-attached storage (NAS) systems, the reliability of each unit is crucial for data integrity. The CMR technology and design for continuous operation make this drive ideal for use in enterprise NAS systems where multiple users access data simultaneously. Stable read and write performance ensures smooth file sharing, seamless operation of business applications, and reliable network data backup.
