Key features of the WD Red Pro 16TB hard drive
- Optimised for multi-user, RAID-enabled NAS storage
- NASware™ technology for reliable and stable performance
- Rotational vibration sensors and multi-axis shock sensor for data protection
- Designed for 24/7 operation in commercial and enterprise environments
Protection against excessive vibration
WD Red Pro hard drives have rotational vibration (RV) sensors that estimate and proactively counteract interference caused by increased vibration. By suppressing increased vibration in the drive chassis, shocks are minimised, performance is maintained, and the drives are protected. Western Digital works with a wide range of NAS system vendors, conducting extensive testing to ensure compatibility with most NAS storage enclosures.
Designed for 24/7 operation
WD Red Pro hard drives are designed to handle high-intensity workloads in multi-user NAS environments with 24/7 operation, helping to increase system resilience. WD Red Pro hard drives include a multi-axis shock sensor to detect subtle shocks and automatically compensate for them with dynamic fly height technology to further protect the drives in the NAS storage chassis.
