The Yale SV-VDB-1A-W wireless video doorbell is used to monitor the area in front of your entrance door and for two-way communication with approaching visitors. The device transmits video in 1080p HD resolution and provides two-way audio transmission in real time. Using integrated sensors, it detects motion and sends notifications to the Yale Home mobile app. This gives users a continuous overview of what's happening in front of their house from anywhere in the world. The system works with Wi-Fi wireless technology and complements a home security system. Installation is done using the included screws and wall plugs.

Image Quality
The camera captures its surroundings in 1080p HD resolution with a wide 154° field of view. Users can use up to 8× digital zoom to get a closer look at details in captured images or live view videos. The built-in microphone and speaker provide two-way audio transmission for direct communication with people at the door. In the mobile app, you can set the length of recorded video clips up to 60 seconds.
Night Vision and Motion Detection
The sensor detects motion in front of the door and immediately sends a notification to your mobile phone. Integrated night vision with a 6m range works even in complete darkness and delivers detailed footage. The person detection feature uses artificial intelligence algorithms to accurately recognise people and prevent false alarms. Users can set customisable privacy zones and schedule motion detection so the camera ignores common events.
Flexible Power Options
The device runs on either a built-in rechargeable battery or can be connected directly to the mains via hardwiring. The dual power system facilitates installation in various types of properties without the need for complex structural modifications. Users can choose the power method according to their entrance layout. For continuous power without needing to recharge the battery, an optional power adaptor can be purchased.
Connects to the Yale Home Ecosystem
A wireless Wi-Fi connection links the device to the Yale Home mobile app for iOS and Android systems. The system works with Yale smart locks, so you can unlock the door directly from the app's interface. The device supports integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Home voice assistants for convenient voice control.
Recording Storage
The internal memory stores 2–4 days of video recording without the need to insert a memory card, which corresponds to approximately 35 clips in 1080p resolution at a length of 10 seconds. Users can download saved clips of up to 60 seconds directly to their mobile phone. A paid service offers a capacity extension with 30-day cloud storage and other additional image analysis features, such as vehicle, pet, or parcel detection.
Weather Resistance
The IPX6-rated construction withstands adverse weather conditions, rain, and dust. The device operates reliably across a wide range of outdoor temperatures all year round. The compact outer casing facilitates mounting on standard door frames and posts. The entire device measures 146 × 55 × 34mm and has a total weight of 220g.
