Imagine a power outage a few seconds before the entire file was saved. The unsaved work is irretrievably lost, and you must start from scratch. Such tragic scenarios can be warded off by the APC Easy-UPS 2200VA (Schuko) uninterrupted power supply (UPS). In principle, this hardware is just a premium battery backup that provides power for all devices that need electricity. The APC Easy-UPS 2200VA (Schuko) backup power uses the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is the simplest form in case of a black-out, since it switches power to the UPS unit itself. The line interactive UPS enhances the simpler off-line version of voltage regulation to guard against dangerous surges travelling along data lines.
An important parameter is the UPS run time. This is governed by the power consumption of the connected appliances – for example, at half-load (50%), the backup time will be three times longer. It is therefore crucial to determine the energy consumption of the connected computers, monitors and other electronics and it is best to add some spare power left. The APC Easy-UPS 2200VA (Schuko) shows the apparent power as 2200, but realistically, the actual power usage is 1200 W.
