The APC Smart-UPS C 1500VA LCD RM 2U 230V with SmartConnect for rack is a reliable solution for protecting servers and network components. This uninterruptible power supply (UPS) has a power output of 1500VA. It uses line-interactive topology for efficient operation. At full load, it powers connected devices for 7 minutes; at half load, this extends to 18 minutes. The integrated SmartConnect port also provides access to cloud-based monitoring. Topology, power and runtime
This UPS uses line-interactive topology, which uses automatic voltage regulation to correct mains fluctuations without switching to battery power. It provides an apparent power of 1500VA and a real power of 1000W. The output voltage has a pure sine wave form, which is ideal for powering servers and sensitive electronics. The backup time at 100% load is 7 minutes, while at 50% load it is 18 minutes.
Battery and protective features
Inside, it houses a replaceable lead-acid battery that fully recharges in 3 hours. The cold start feature lets you start the UPS directly from the battery, even without an input power supply. The unit protects connected devices with surge protection with an absorption capacity of 459J and includes protection against deep battery discharge. Network cable protection is also included.
Remote management and software
USB and Ethernet ports are used for connecting to a computer or network. The latter provides access to cloud monitoring via the SmartConnect service for tracking status from anywhere. An expanding SmartSlot allows you to install an optional network card for advanced management. The supplied PowerChute Serial Shutdown software coordinates the safe and automatic shutdown of connected servers during a prolonged power outage.
Connectivity options
You can connect the input power using a standard IEC 320 C14 connector, common in data centres. For powering appliances, the rear panel offers a total of six outputs. Four IEC 320 C13 sockets are for directly connecting servers or network switches. These are complemented by two IEC Jumpers C13 sockets. All output ports are battery-backed and protected against voltage spikes.
