The ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR 2006 motherboard provides the platform for high-performance gaming rigs and workstations, supporting AMD processors for the AM5 socket, including the Ryzen 9000 series. As an AM5 gaming motherboard with an AMD X870E chipset, it delivers full support for DDR5 RAM and dual PCIe 5.0 interfaces for graphics cards and storage. The design, featuring copper elements, commemorates the 20th anniversary of the ROG brand and combines retro inspiration with modern technology. For performance tuning and overclocking enthusiasts, it offers a suite of advanced tools and a massive power delivery system.
The board uses a power delivery system in a 20+2+2 phase configuration, where the VCORE and SoC stages can handle currents up to 110A. This solution, powered by two 8-pin connectors, delivers stable energy to the processor even under heavy load and during overclocking. The board supports up to 256GB of DDR5 memory and offers advanced performance-tuning features like Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex, and Asynchronous Clock. The system is complemented by AI-powered technologies, such as AI Overclocking and AI Cooling II.
The board offers a wide range of connection options for components and peripherals. It includes two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots ready for graphics cards. For fast storage, it provides five M.2 slots, two of which operate on the PCIe 5.0 bus. This is complemented by four SATA III ports. The rear panel features USB 4.0 ports with speeds of 40Gb/s and a range of USB 10Gb/s ports. Network connectivity consists of dual LAN with 10Gb/s and 5Gb/s speeds, a Wi-Fi 7 wireless module, and Bluetooth 5.4.
The cooling system dissipates heat from key components. It consists of a massive block of VRM heatsinks connected by heatpipes for more efficient heat distribution. All five M.2 slots are equipped with their own heatsinks and backplates. A separate heatsink also covers the AMD X870E chipset. A larger number of connectors for fans and water cooling pumps gives you full control over the temperatures in your build.
The board integrates several features that simplify PC building and diagnostics. The integrated 2" LiveDash OLED display shows real-time system statistics or custom graphics. For quick diagnostics, the board includes a Q-Code display and a set of Q-LED indicators. Q-Release and Q-Latch make it easy to install and replace components without tools. The BIOS FlashBack and Clear CMOS buttons on the rear panel simplify BIOS management and recovery.
