Hub power mode via USB cable (bus power):
USB bus power is sufficient to connect a USB device with a low draw (mouse, keyboard, card reader, flash drive, etc.) or powered externally (printer, scanner, 3.5" external drive) to all seven ports.
In this power mode, the USB hub can also handle up to 2 magnetic 2.5" external drives or three drives if connected gradually.
Charging of mobile devices (except for iPads) is also possible in this power mode, though the charging current reaches only 0.9A.

Self-power power hub mode (using included power adapter):
Power supply via the included AC/DC adapter (input: 100-240V ~, 50/60Hz, 0.45A, output: 5V-2A / 10W, two-pin euro fork, 3.5/1.3mm coaxial output connector, 150cm cable).
In this power mode, the USB hub can handle 4 magnetic 2.5" external drives. For reliable long-term hub operation, however, it is recommended that you connect up to 3 external 2.5" drives at the same time.
Quick-charge for mobile devices (including iPad) is provided with up to 2A in each of the hub ports. The total current supplied by the hub while charging is limited by the output current of the power adapter to a maximum of 2A.

Standalone charging hub mode (without PC connection):
If you shut down the connected computer or don’t connect the hub at all, the AXAGON HUE-SA7BP works through the supplied AC/DC adapter, serving as a standalone rechargeable USB hub.
Quick-charge for mobile devices (including iPad) is provided with up to 2A in each of the hub ports. The total current supplied by the hub while charging is limited by the output current of the power adapter to a maximum of 2A.
