BOSCH KGN49VICT Series 4

Is it possible to change the door opening direction on the refrigerator?

Yes, on most models it is possible to change the door opening direction. We recommend consulting the user manual for your specific appliance for instructions or contacting an authorized service center.

Can the refrigerator be transported lying down?

Transporting the refrigerator lying down is not recommended as it can damage the compressor. If it is necessary, let the refrigerator stand upright for at least 24 hours after transport before plugging it in.

The new refrigerator has warm side walls after starting. Is that normal?

Yes, this is normal. The condenser, which dissipates heat from the inside of the refrigerator, is integrated into the side walls, causing them to heat up.

The new refrigerator does not have fins (evaporator, condenser) on the back wall from the outside, but some kind of cardboard. Should we remove this cardboard?

No, do not remove this cover. It is often made of a sturdy material resembling cardboard and serves as protection and insulation for the back of the appliance.

The compressor/motor of the new refrigerator turns on very frequently and for a long time. Is that normal?

Yes, with new refrigerators, especially those with an inverter compressor, it is common for them to run longer initially to reach the set temperature. Modern compressors can operate for longer periods at lower power.

There is a plastic tube covered with tape on the compressor of the new refrigerator. Should I remove it?

No, do not remove the plastic wrap, tape, or any other protective elements on components that are not explicitly marked for removal after transport. To be sure, check the installation manual.

There is a large amount of moisture in the vegetable drawer (or under the vegetable drawer) of the refrigerator, or a large amount of water is forming in this area.

Check if the drain hole at the back of the refrigerator is clogged. Increased moisture can also be caused by storing unwashed or unwrapped vegetables.

What is the difference between No Frost and Low Frost?

No Frost technology completely prevents ice buildup in the freezer through air circulation, so it never needs to be defrosted. Low Frost technology significantly reduces ice formation, but occasional manual defrosting is still necessary.

Is it possible to adjust the temperature for the freezer?

Yes, on most combination refrigerators, the freezer temperature can be adjusted independently of the cooling section. The optimal temperature for the freezer is -18°C.

Why does the refrigerator activate the Supercooling and Superfreezing functions on its own?

Some models may activate these functions automatically after the door has been open for an extended period or when a large amount of new food is added, in order to quickly restore the optimal temperature.

Water is dripping down the back wall in the cooling compartment. Is that normal?

Yes, this is part of the automatic defrost cycle. The water runs down into a drain hole and evaporates. Make sure the drain hole is not clogged.

Why does the Alarm beep and flash after connecting the new refrigerator? Is it an error?

This is not an error. The alarm indicates that the internal temperature has not yet reached the set level. Once the refrigerator cools down sufficiently, the alarm will turn off automatically.

The Alarm is flashing on the refrigerator, but the temperature inside the refrigerator has not changed.

The alarm can also indicate other conditions, such as an open door or a power failure. Check the display for a specific error code and consult the manual.

After changing the door opening side, the fruit/vegetable drawers cannot be pulled out.

Check that the door is installed correctly and opens to a sufficient angle. The problem may also be due to improperly seated hinges.

Can oven trays fit in the refrigerator?

Standard baking trays do not fit into most regular refrigerators. Some premium models may have a special compartment or flexible layout that allows for this.

Is it possible to individually turn off the freezer/cooling compartment?

On some models, usually those with two compressors or special features, it is possible to temporarily deactivate one of the compartments. This is not typically possible on standard models.

How long should the appliance be left idle during transport?

After transport, especially if it was not kept upright, it is recommended to let the appliance stand idle for 4–6 hours, ideally up to 24 hours, before plugging it into the power outlet.

Can the shelves and drawers be removed when the door is open at a 90° angle?

On most models, the door must be opened more than 90° to comfortably remove the internal shelves and drawers. You can find precise information in the product's technical specifications.
