Digitální zrcadlovka určená méně náročným, začátečníkům a také cestovatelům, pro nízkou hmotnost, rozměry a rychlé, intuitivní ovládání s velmi dobrou ergonomií. Použitý snímací čip formátu APS-C je velmi kvalitní, a s integrovaným čištěním. Fotoaparát je v živém náhledu vybaven kvalitním automatickým zaostřováním Canon Dual Pixel AF a také s možností natáčet Full-HD video. Nechybí ani dotykový, otočný a vyklápěcí LCD displej na praktickém kloubu a k dispozici je i plná konektivita s chytrými telefony. Zajímavý set se dvěma základními objektivy, klasickým stabilizovaným zoomem a vysoce světelným pevným ohniskem (oba v nejnovější verzi STM).
Nedostatků není mnoho, a navíc se týkají jen určité části fotografů, jmenoval bych snad jen starší AF (v hledáčku) a také menší hledáček jako takový. Pro někoho také možná menší vyrovnávací paměť a nižší kapacita baterie (při fotografování přes živý náhled).
