Clary sage
Sage has been commonly used in ancient Persia, China and Egypt. It finds its use not only in folk medicine, but also in the kitchen. The name sage itself is derived from its Latin name Salvia, which comes from the Greek verb "salvare", which translates as "to heal". It is best known for its use as an internal disinfectant, where it is useful for inflammation and pain in the throat and oral cavity. It can also soothe the stomach, intestines and prevent bloating.
