The CyberPower VP1000ELCD-FR backup power features the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is classified as the simplest form in case of a black-out, since it connects to the battery and disconnects from the mains power. The line interactive UPS also adds power protection to guard against dangerous surges travelling along data lines.
The most important parameter is the UPS run time during outages. This is governed by the power consumption of the connected devices – for example, at half-load (50%), the battery backup time can last up to three times as long. The load of the backup source governs the operating time, which at full load (100%) is 1 min and at half the energy consumption, it is 9 min. It is therefore essential to calculate the energy consumption of the connected computers, monitors and other electronics and ideally to have a bit of energy extra left.
