A switch is a functional network component that connects individual devices or other network elements. It is designed for controlling network traffic. The D-LINK DGS-1250-28XMP is supposed to be placed in a rack. This model features a switching capacity of 128 Gb/s. The Switch is equipped with 24 × RJ-45 ports that provide connection with network elements. 4 SFP connectors are there to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100Base-T technology allows data transfer with a speed of up to 100 Mbit/s. 10/100/1000Base-T technology enables data transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It features Dual Personality ports, remarkable for incorporating both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one can be used at a time. The switch dimensions are 440 × 250 × 44mm. The D-Link device works with PoE technology that provides power and signal connection to end devices with just one LAN cable. Integrated LAN ports support a bandwidth speed of up to 1 Gbit. The weight of the switch is 3460g.
