Intelligent subject tracking using the stabiliser's touchscreen

The stabiliser is equipped with an intelligent module¹ that lets you select and track a target object via the gimbal's touchscreen. Whether it's a person, vehicle or pet, the tracked subject remains in the centre of the frame. The person tracking also offers a range of up to 10 metres, which expands your shooting possibilities even in dynamic environments.

DJI RS 5 Combo – powerful motors and high stability during movement

Compared to the previous model, the DJI RS 5 Combo offers up to 50% faster maximum motor torque, ensuring a stable image even with rapid camera movements. Stability is maintained when walking, running, and even when shooting vertically. With a total weight of 1.46kg, the stabiliser is comfortable to handle even during extended use. A payload capacity of up to 3kg allows for use with common types of mirrorless cameras and lenses.⁴

Ergonomic gimbal control and extended camera compatibility

The new, intuitive Electronic Briefcase Handle² provides comfortable one-handed operation. Its body features a joystick and control buttons for managing the gimbal and camera, which makes creating creative angles easier. The RS 5 Combo's Bluetooth shutter now supports selected Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras,⁷ adding to the previously supported Sony, Canon and Nikon brands. The Clear Image Zoom function works without a wired connection. A new Z-axis indicator helps with more precise shot framing.

Long battery life and fast charging for the camera stabiliser

Another area of improvement is the battery, with up to 14 hours of operation.³ Charging is up to 60% faster, taking approximately one hour. In standby mode, the battery lasts 15% longer than the previous generation. The battery life can be further extended by purchasing the DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip,⁵ which provides up to 30 hours of operation⁶ and supports fast charging with 45W PD technology.

Precise balancing and automated axis locks

The DJI RS 5 Combo gimbal is equipped with rotating dials on each axis arm, enabling quick and precise balancing via a screw mechanism. Teflon-coated axes ensure smooth movement even when working with heavier camera setups. The 2nd-generation automated axis locks lock the gimbal when it's turned off or put into sleep mode, and automatically unlock it when turned back on for immediate use.

Quickly switch to vertical shooting with the DJI RS 5 Combo stabiliser

3rd-generation native vertical shooting lets you easily switch to a vertical position. Simply release the side dial, remove the horizontal gimbal plate, rotate it 90°, and re-attach it.⁸ The Arca-Swiss upper plate along with the Manfrotto lower plate allow for quick switching between the gimbal and a tripod without needing to rebalance, thanks to the position memory function. The upper plate is also equipped with an adjustable guide rail for secure camera mounting.
