EATON UPS 5P 850i Gen2

The Eaton UPS 5P 850i Gen2 is a line-interactive UPS designed to protect sensitive electronics. With an apparent power of 850VA and a real power of 680W, it supplies energy to servers, network components or workstations. The integrated automatic voltage regulation function actively corrects both undervoltage and overvoltage on the mains without switching to battery power, which extends the battery life. This UPS for PCs and smaller IT infrastructures achieves a high operating efficiency of 98%, reducing energy losses and running costs. The clear LCD shows key operational data and simplifies configuration.

Performance, efficiency and protection

The UPS uses line-interactive topology with a high efficiency of 98%. Automatic voltage regulation stabilises the output voltage and corrects fluctuations in the electrical grid without using the battery. The source provides a real power of 680W with an apparent power of 850VA. The long backup time reaches 4.8 minutes at full load and 13.3 minutes at half load. The automatic battery test and deep-discharge protection safeguard connected devices and the UPS itself.

Management and monitoring

The graphic LCD and Eaton Brightlayer software provide management and supervision. The display shows the status, measured values and any notifications in real time. Communication interfaces include an HID-compatible USB port for automatic integration with operating systems and an RS-232 serial port. For advanced automation and remote device control, it supports ROO and RPO via a mini terminal block and potential-free contacts.

Battery and connectivity

Power is provided by two maintenance-free 2×12V/7Ah lead-acid batteries. The UPS includes user-replaceable battery modules, which simplifies maintenance and reduces service costs. The user can choose between advanced ABM charging, which extends battery life, and standard constant-voltage charging. The UPS offers one expansion slot for an optional communication card, for example for network management. It connects to the mains via a standard IEC C14 input connector. To power protected devices, the UPS offers six IEC C13 output sockets, providing sufficient capacity for common IT equipment.
