Playing as Eline, a young nomadic Soulcaller, you will fight against creatures afflicted by the Corrosion. After a mysterious encounter, a dark power awakens within her, and the ability to control the Corrosion in her own body becomes a possible key to ending the apocalypse. Edge of Memories PS5 will take you on a journey where Eline is accompanied by her mentor Ysoris and Kanto, the shaman prince of one of the lost tribes.
In Edge of Memories PS5, you'll engage in intense real-time battles and create devastating attack combos by alternating between swift strikes and destructive techniques. You'll witness the power of your allies, whose skills you can customise and use at strategic moments for even more devastating attacks. The accumulated rage will allow you to transform into a Berserker and perform lethal strikes, finishing with a series of merciless executions.

The vast Avaris offers landscapes ranging from the idyllic sandy shores of the port city of Sarlah Durah to the snowy peaks of the Kezal mountains. In Edge of Memories PS5, you will see traces of the Corrosion in colourful and vibrant environments that transform as you progress through the story. Places you have already passed through take on new forms, opening up extraordinary paths for further exploration. To travel quickly through the vast areas, you'll use the Nekaroo, a faithful feline companion with the agility needed to traverse hard-to-reach places.

The visual style of Edge of Memories PS5 draws inspiration from Japanese anime, presenting the colourful world of Heryon through the continent of Avaris. The distinctive environment is brought to life by Unreal Engine 5 and, alongside impressive scenery, will offer a glimpse of the beauty of a landscape being gradually consumed by the Corrosion. Each area shows a different face of the ruined continent, highlighting the world's transformation during your journey.

The story of Edge of Memories PS5 is built on an original narrative where every quest is meaningful to the plot, the characters, or their relationships. The atmosphere of Edge of Memories PS5 is accompanied by a dynamic and adaptable soundtrack composed by Cédric Menendez. While exploring Avaris and during battles with corrupted enemies, you'll hear tracks complemented by the vocals of Emi Evans, known from NieR. Eline's journey is concluded by a final theme from Yasunori Mitsuda, the composer for Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Sea of Stars.
