AKZO NOBEL Luxol Original woodstain is designed for protective coats on interior and exterior wooden surfaces, such as fences, pergolas, or cladding. The solvent-based formula gives the wood protection against weathering, UV radiation, and mould. Thanks to its thin-layer finish, the natural grain of the wood is preserved and the surface gains a matt appearance in a chestnut shade. You can apply the woodstain with a brush or roller.

Surface preparation and correct application

To achieve the best result, the woodstain needs to be applied to a clean, dry, and lightly sanded surface. You can apply the woodstain using a brush or a roller. To ensure sufficient protection and a uniform appearance, an application of two coats is recommended. Before use, mix the contents thoroughly to ensure the correct dispersion of pigments and other components.

Coverage and drying

The theoretical coverage of the woodstain is approximately 11m²/L in a single coat. This means one 0.75L can will treat an area of roughly 8m². However, the actual consumption depends on the type, absorbency, and finish of the wooden surface. The coat is touch-dry after 24 hours, after which time you can also apply the second coat. The surface achieves full hardness depending on the ambient temperature and air humidity.
