The integrated brightness sensor allows precise switching on of the lighting in darkness or at dusk. Even on cloudy days, the sensor can accurately distinguish the brightness intensity. The Homematic IP app provides up-to-date information on the status of your smart home and ensures a sense of security even when you're on the go. When motion is detected in the activated protection mode, a push notification message is immediately sent to your smartphone and an alarm is displayed via the app.

Motion detector with intelligent lighting activation
The motion detector will only turn on the lighting when it is really necessary. The device contains a total of three separate detection zones - two main zones and an anti-sneak zone - which can be individually configured, allowing for scenarios such as suppressing disturbances from passers-by, cyclists or cars. The division into several zones ensures that the ranges of the individual areas are always respected. Thanks to the wide temperature range from -20 to +55 °C and the weatherproof housing (IP44), the detector can be installed outdoors or, for example, in garages. For optimum detection range, a mounting height of 2.5 m is recommended. Direct communication between devices allows the alarm to be triggered even without an active internet or cloud connection. Even if the central unit is destroyed, for example by a thief, the other devices remain fully functional.
Additional switching actuator and wide range of applications
An internal switching actuator allows interfacing with all Homematic IP sensors, providing better coverage of the monitored area with additional motion detectors. An additional button can also be used to directly switch on or off the lighting connected to the device. Thanks to the integration into switching groups, several other actuators can be switched simultaneously when motion is detected.
