HP Smart Tank 520 All-in-One inkjet printer
A reliable all-in-one tank printer for home and home office with a low cost per print
The HP Smart Tank 520 All-in-One is a multifunction tank printer designed for everyday high-volume printing at a significantly lower cost per page compared to traditional cartridge printers. The tank system, refillable with HP GT52 colour bottles and HP GT53XL black ink, delivers up to 6000 colour or black and white pages from the bottles included in the box – with no need to immediately purchase new consumables. A print speed of up to 12ppm for black and white and 5ppm for colour, with a resolution of up to 1200×1200 DPI, ensures sharp text and vibrant colours for documents, photos, and school projects. The copy function, which includes ID card copying, and a scanner with an optical resolution of up to 1200 DPI cover all the daily needs of a home office. Integrated ink level sensors alert you when a refill is needed before printing is interrupted, and HP Auto-On/Auto-Off technology automatically turns the printer on when a print job is sent and off when it's not needed. USB 2.0 connectivity, support for the HP Smart app for Windows, and intuitive light-up buttons for easy control complete the picture of a printer that just works.

Tank system for high-volume printing with a low cost per page
The HP Smart Tank 520's tank system makes a crucial difference compared to traditional cartridge printers. Instead of expensive, low-capacity cartridges, the printer is filled using colour-coded ink bottles that deliver thousands of pages at a fraction of the price. The innovative design of HP bottles prevents spills during refilling, and integrated ink level sensors let you know when it's time for a top-up – before printing is interrupted or the printhead is damaged. A recommended monthly volume of 400 to 800 pages and a maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 3000 pages confirm that this is a printer designed for truly regular, everyday use.
Intuitive controls and easy setup for everyone
The HP Smart Tank 520 is designed so that anyone can get it up and running for the first time, with no technical knowledge required. A setup guide walks you through each step of the installation, and the smart, light-up buttons visually indicate what the printer is doing or what it needs from you – no need to check the manual. The HP Smart app for Windows and macOS lets you manage print jobs, monitor ink levels, and adjust printer settings directly from your computer without needing physical access to the device.
Copy, scan, and print in one compact device
In addition to printing borderless documents and photos up to A4 size, the HP Smart Tank 520 also handles copying and scanning with an optical resolution of up to 1200 DPI on its 216×297mm scan bed. The ID card copy feature lets you conveniently copy IDs, licences, and cards onto a single page, while output to JPG, PDF, PNG, TIFF, or HEIF formats ensures compatibility with any workflow. Support for a wide range of media, from plain paper and 10×15cm photo paper to envelopes and cards, covers all the daily printing needs of a home and home office.

Hewlett-Packard was founded in the difficult times of the Great Depression. The founders were a pair of friends whose name the company still proudly bears. They started their business in an unobtrusive garage near the city of Palo Alto. It is now a national monument. HP’s success lay not in copying existing products, but in the ability and courage to come up with something new.
The first commercial triumph was an oscillator that surpassed all competition in quality, yet sold at a quarter of the price. In 1968, HP released their first desktop computer - a desktop calculator. The company currently manufactures products primarily related to computer technology - computers and laptops, printers, scanners, digital cameras, servers, and last but not least, calculators.
