The Intel Core i9-9980XE processor offers 18 physical cores and is part of the new Skylake-X series. It uses a 14nm manufacturing process using the latest technology available. Each core runs at a basic frequency of 3.0GHz with Turbo mode and with automatic overclocking up to 4.5GHz. As with the previous generation, the memory controller is integrated into the chip directly. It is a four-channel DDR4 memory controller that can now work at a massive frequency of up to 2666 MHz. The processor has an L3 cache of 24.75MB capacity. Of course, there is also an open multiplier for possible overclocking.
