D-Day for Apple fans has finally arrived—Tim Cook and his team have unveiled the stunning new iPhone 12 Mini. On first look, you'll notice the angular iPhone 5-inspired design. If that brings a smile to your face, wait until you see the equipment! You can look forward to an OLED display, a durable Ceramic Shield, a powerful Apple A14 Bionic chip, MagSafe plus a dual-camera system. There are five colour models for you to choose from.
The new iPhone 12 Mini features a 5.4" Super Retina XDR display that brings a fine 2340×1080p resolution at 476 pixels per inch. Its key benefits include HDR 10 and Dolby Vision support, a maximum brightness of 625 nits (up to 1200 in HDR), and a huge contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. The entire front is covered with specially developed Ceramic Shield glass, which Apple promises delivers 4x better drop performance.
Apple has prepared a dual camera with improved optics for the iPhone 12 Mini. The main wide-angle lens boasts an f/1.6 aperture, optical image stabilisation and seven optical elements. The ultra-wide-angle camera boasts an f/2.4 aperture and a 120° field of view. As the new camera brings in 27% more light, you'll notice a significant improvement in image quality even in low light—this also applies to video recording. Even better, this is the first line of iPhones with support for Dolby Vision movie-quality video recording.
The magnetic system on the rear of the device works with a range of accessories to improve your experience. For example, you can use a MagSafe charger to wirelessly charge at speeds of up to 15W.
The most-welcome revolution is integrated 5G support, which Apple makes the most of by using its own chip with low power consumption. What's more, Smart Data Mode automatically selects networks to conserve energy when 5G is not required.
