This herbal tea contains blueberry leaves and gymnema leaf, which help to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Myrtillin, found in ordinary-looking blueberry leaves, is nicknamed 'plant insulin'. Gymnema sylvestre has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. This vine, which grows up to 8 metres tall, is also known as gurmar, which literally translates as 'destroyer of sweet taste'.
Pour boiling water (250ml) over 1 tea bag and leave to infuse in a covered container for 10 minutes. The tea must not be boiled. Always prepare fresh.
Adults:
2–4 cups per day
Do not exceed the recommended dosage. The recommended duration of use is 3 weeks. The course can be repeated after 2 weeks.
The taste of the tea is dominated by pleasant rooibos, which also gives the drink its dark orange colour, and liquorice with a delicious aniseed hint. The other herbs give the tea a subtle herbal aroma, in which you may recognise the spicy scent of sage or the slightly woody touch of goat's rue.
Not suitable for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for long-term use of the tea. Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any component of the tea blend. Store in a dry place up to 25°C, protected from light and foreign odours. Keep out of reach of children.
