The Mysterious Underwater City of Rapture
The story of BioShock begins with a plane crash in the middle of the Atlantic. As the sole survivor, you discover a lonely lighthouse that serves as a gateway deep into the underwater city of Rapture. This place was originally built by the visionary Andrew Ryan as a haven for humanity's greatest minds, free from government regulation and moral constraints. However, you soon discover that this utopian dream has turned into a nightmare filled with genetically mutated inhabitants.
A Combination of Shooting and Supernatural Abilities
The gameplay in BioShock combines fast-paced first-person action with elaborate RPG elements. In addition to an arsenal of period weapons, you will also use genetic modifications called plasmids, which grant you supernatural abilities like telekinesis or the power to hurl lightning. By combining weapons and plasmids, you can create effective strategies for combating enemies. The game also presents you with moral choices that influence the further development of the story.
Hardware Requirements and Language Support
For a smooth gaming experience, a computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 graphics card with 512MB of memory is recommended. The minimum configuration requires an Intel Pentium IV processor with a frequency of 2.4GHz and 1GB of RAM. The game needs 8GB of free disk space and is compatible with the Windows XP and Vista operating systems. The title offers full text and audio localisation in several world languages.
The purchased product key must be activated in Steam:
1) Go to https://store.steampowered.com/ and click on the green button that says "Install Steam".
2) Install and run the Steam client and log in with your existing account or create a new one.
3) Click "Add Game" at the bottom left corner of the screen and then select "Activate a Product on Steam"
4) The "Product Activation" window will pop up. Follow the onscreen instructions and enter your purchased code.
5) Once the activation is complete, you can find the new game in your "Library" tab.
6) Press the blue "Install" button to install the game.
