The new addition in the popular D5500 series has been improved to fit the photographer in terms of ergonomics, a longer battery life and more shooting options. Especially the expanded ISO sensitivity to 25,600 will provide you with better results in bad lighting conditions and even allows for night-time shooting without a flash. Your photos will have beautiful colours and great depth. The camera is also smaller and lighter than the previous model. In addition, with the same battery, it lasts up to a third more and has a touch screen for easier operation.
The D5500 has a proven 39-point focus and a 2016px RGB exposure sensor. The 24Mpx DX CMOS sensor promises lively images with distinctive, gentle colours and low noise levels. The camera also features the advanced technology EXPEED 4, which processes data quickly and turns them into perfect images in all lighting conditions. The system is powerful enough to allow continuous recording of Full HD movies and continuous shooting at up to 5fps.
This digital SLR has a light, yet robust, monolithic body design and is the perfect photographic partner for every occasion. With its perfectly shaped grip, you can grasp the camera with a minimal effort to gain full control over the buttons and wheels. The Fn feature lets you quickly adjust key settings by moving your finger on the monitor when shooting with the viewfinder. You can assign up to eight frequently used settings to the Fn function, including focus area, AF mode, aperture, and ISO sensitivity.

Nikon’s beginnings date back to 1917 in Japan. At first, the company mainly produced lenses - telescopes, binoculars, microscopes and other small, optical equipment. Soon the company expanded its portfolio, producing photographic lenses under the Nikkor brand.
In the field of cameras, particularly among professionals, Nikon quickly gained a reputation as a top manufacturer, which continues today. Its cameras were even included in the equipment of American spacecraft. Nikon designed and produced the legendary Nikon SP 1957, regarded by many as the best camera of all time.
