Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Sx2-PP chromax. black

Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Sx2-PP chromax. black
The Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM PC fan set in the chromax.black edition includes two fans with a round frame to cool high-performance computer builds. The set's design optimises for a push-pull setup, where two fans work in tandem on a single heatsink, increasing static pressure for efficient airflow through dense fins. This PWM fan provides fully automatic speed control, ranging from 0 to 1500rpm. The chromax.black edition features an all-black design, from the frame and blades to the anti-vibration pads, making it easy to integrate into builds with a uniform aesthetic.
Key features of the Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PC fan with PWM, Sx2-PP, chromax.black
- Set includes two fans for a push-pull setup with slightly offset speeds
- SSO2 bearing with a mean time to failure of over 150000 hours
- etaPERF motor with SupraTorque technology delivers higher torque
- PWM control stops the fan at a 0% signal
- Advanced aerodynamic design uses a newly designed impeller
- The chromax.black edition features an all-black design for all components
- Generates airflow up to 91.58CFM at a noise level of 24.8dB(A)
Aerodynamic design and motor performance
The advanced aerodynamic design uses an impeller made from Sterrox LCP composite with nine progressively curved blades. This material reduces vibrations and deformation at high speeds. The etaPERF motor with SupraTorque technology delivers increased torque, which maintains a constant rotational speed even when air resistance increases, such as with dense heatsink fins or water-cooling radiators.
Push-pull configuration
This set contains two fans with slightly different maximum speeds, with a difference of approximately 25rpm. This deliberate speed offset helps to suppress acoustic interference. When two identical fans operate in close proximity, as in a push-pull configuration, resonances can occur. The offset speeds eliminate these unwanted harmonic effects, which manifest as a pulsing sound. The result is a smoother and less intrusive sound profile for the entire cooling assembly.
Reliability and bearing construction
The fan uses a second-generation self-stabilising oil-pressure bearing (SSO2). Its design incorporates an additional magnet placed closer to the rotor axis, which improves stabilisation, precision, and durability. The SSO2 bearing used has a stated mean time to failure (MTTF) of over 150000 hours of continuous operation. The metal bearing shell, which is CNC-milled from brass, also contributes to the overall precision and mechanical stability.
PWM speed control
The fan provides fully automatic speed control via a standard 4-pin PWM connector. The speed range runs smoothly from 0 to 1500rpm, allowing you to tailor the cooling performance to the current system load. The integrated NE-FD6 PWM chip manages the automatic speed control and supports a complete stop function. At a 0% PWM signal from the motherboard, the fan stops completely, which is ideal for silent builds with semi-passive cooling under low load.
