Intuitive operation

All important controls on the Pentax K-S1 are backlit by LEDs, the colour of which indicates the current camera mode or the selected functions . For example, the shutter-release button is lit in the green when taking photos, the backlight becomes red when shooting a video. When Face Recognition is on, as many LEDs as the faces have been detected, the LED lights up on the camera. The same diodes serve as a self-timer countdown.

Sensor with maximum sensitivity

The K-S1 features a brand-new CMOS sensor with an effective 20.12 megapixel resolution that ensures high-quality photos. To maximize performance, the sensor is designed without an optical anti-aliasing filter. Combined with the high -performance Prime MII image processor, you can capture highly detailed and natural photos with minimal noise even at ultra-high ISO - up to 51,200.

Innovative reduction of tremor and moiré effect

In-Body Shake Reduction is a mechanism specially developed by Pentax to effectively minimize tremors and achieve maximum sharpness of images even when using a telephoto lens or when shooting scenes with minimal light. The innovative anti-aliasing filter system is not implemented optically, but software at the subpixel image processing level, yet effective moire effect reduction is achieved. Additionally, the user can select anti-aliasing levels to capture unique photos in addition to turning the filter off and on.

One hundred percent viewfinder

Using a special pentagram prism in the K-S1 viewfinder, the shot you select will exactly match the picture on the resulting photo. The high viewfinder light, along with the slight zoom off (0.95x zoom), lets you see 100% of the desired image directly in the viewfinder to find the desired shot.
