IPL technology

Philips Lumea uses innovative light-based technology called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) to interrupt the hair growth cycle. Fine pulses of light will prevent the roots of the hair from becoming active again after several treatments. Philips Lumea Prestige is the culmination of 14 years of research and development in collaboration with leading dermatologists.

Easy to use

IPL technology has been available in specialised salons since 1997. Philips Lumea products are derived from this professional technology and allow you to get rid of the hair easily and efficiently from the comfort of your home.

Verified efficiency

An objective study demonstrates a significant reduction in hair growth after just three to four treatments over a two-week interval. To maintain these results, repeat the treatment every four to eight weeks according to your individual needs.

Suitable for a wide range of hairs and skin types

Philips Lumea effectively, easily and safely affects a variety of different hair and skin types. It is effective in hairs of natural dark blonde colour dark, brown and black and with skin tones from very light to dark brown. Like other IPL-based technologies, Philips Lumea is not suitable for light blonde or reddish hair, and is not suitable for very dark skin due to the demand for high contrast between hairs and hue pigments.
