The Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8 L-mount lens is used to capture wide-angle shots on mirrorless cameras with an L-Mount from Leica, Panasonic and Sigma. This optical tool is ideal for photographing landscapes, architecture, interiors and the night sky. The design, developed in cooperation with Schneider-Kreuznach, combines advanced optical elements with high mobility for fieldwork. The lens is compatible with full-frame sensors, while on APS-C format sensors it provides an equivalent focal length of 21–36mm. It operates with a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range and covers an angle of view from 114.2° to 84.1°.

Optical System
The internal arrangement includes 15 elements in 11 groups to achieve high resolution. Among them are 3 aspherical lenses, 5 elements with a high refractive index and 3 lenses with low dispersion. These special optical elements effectively suppress chromatic aberration and spherical distortion across the entire image area. In addition, the UMC multi-layer surface coating reduces unwanted glare and ghosting when shooting against the light.
Constant f/2.8 Aperture
The lens operates with a fixed f/2.8 aperture throughout the focal length range of 14mm to 24mm. This value makes it easier to shoot in low light conditions and provides precise control over the depth of field. The 9-blade circular aperture creates a soft and natural-looking bokeh in the background. The aperture range can be set from f/2.8 to f/22.
Using Front Filters
Unlike conventional ultra-wide-angle lenses with a convex front element, this lens supports the direct mounting of circular filters. The 77mm diameter front thread facilitates the use of polarising and neutral density filters without the need to install bulky external holders. This allows landscape photographers to easily control exposure and reflections directly when shooting outdoors.
STM Autofocus
The autofocus is driven by a linear STM stepping motor with fast and precise operation. The mechanism works almost silently and therefore meets the requirements for recording video without distracting background noise. The focusing system communicates with face detection and object tracking technologies on mirrorless cameras. There is also a switch on the body for instantly changing between automatic and manual modes.
Durable Design for Fieldwork
The lens body has integrated sealing elements at critical points to protect against adverse environmental influences. This design prevents the ingress of dust and moisture, making it easier to work in the rain or snow. The physical length of the barrel is 96.6mm and the total weight is 441g for easy transport. The metal L-Mount provides a firm and stable connection to the camera body.
Controls on the Body
There is a programmable function button on the barrel, which by default functions as a focus lock. Users can reassign this button directly in the camera menu according to their current needs. The integrated USB port is used for quick firmware updates and setting lens parameters. A minimum focusing distance of 18cm allows for detailed close-up shots.
