The Seagate SkyHawk 6TB hard drive ranks among the high load internal HDDs for 24/7 monitoring systems, e.g. security cameras. 3.5" HDDs are designed mainly for data centres and desktop PCs. One of the crucial parameters is undoubtedly the rotational speed. The 5400 RPM RPM should meet the needs of any casual user. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 6000 GB. The drive features a 256 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Seagate hard disk and other hardware is takes place using the SATA III interface.

Other HDD Features
The HDD boasts a unique design. The enclosure conceals a mechanism that uses moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that read and write the data. These moving parts are not particularly resistant against shock or impact, but this weak point is well-compensated by an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The important parameter that determines the speed of a platter hard disk is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). With the Seagate SkyHawk 6TB, you would get 5400 RPM RPM. This is a popular model for ordinary home computers and other devices that do not require high performance. File access speed and overall stability is also influenced the embedded buffer memory known as cache. The Seagate hard disk includes a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their speedy reading.
