The SHANLING EM7 headphone amplifier is a match for even the best audiophile headphones. The analogue section of the EM7 is designed around the flagship ESS ES9038Pro DAC chip, whose eight channels feed a fully balanced amplifier built on the proven OP+BUF architecture. The amplifier circuit was designed specifically for the EM7 to match the exceptionally precise and clean sound of the DAC, while also providing high power for even the most demanding headphones. The result is our best-measuring and most powerful desktop DAC/AMP to date, delivering up to 7W at 32 ohms / 1W at 300 ohms.

Advanced streaming with optimised performance and Android 10
On the streaming side, the EM7 runs on a closed, customised system built on Android 10. This gives you access to a wide range of streaming services, local playback from a MicroSD card or USB drives, DLNA, AirPlay, and NAS support, as well as simple Bluetooth streaming. Everything runs through the Android Global Lossless Output (AGLO) system, which ensures optimal sound quality within the Android environment. The EM7 also features a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, resulting in significantly snappier system performance.
Tilting touchscreen and convenient remote control
The most striking feature of the EM7 is its new tilting display. The larger 5.8-inch 1080p touchscreen can be tilted up to 60 degrees, which enables convenient operation regardless of where the device is placed – whether on a desk or in a Hi-Fi rack. There's also the Eddict Player app, which serves as a remote control for local playback or as a full-featured screen mirror, letting you control all of the EM7's functions directly from your phone.
Separate power supply and maximum versatility
Combining a streamer and a Hi-Fi DAC/AMP in a single device can be challenging in terms of interference, so measures have been taken to minimise it. The DAC and amplifier are separate from the Android section, and each section has its own power supply – the analogue section uses a low-noise Noratel toroidal transformer, while the Android section is powered by a high-quality switching power supply. The EM7 is an extremely versatile device, transitioning seamlessly between the roles of a high-end source for headphones, a pure DAC with an optional pre-amplifier, or a digital source for an external DAC via coaxial, optical, or USB interfaces. It can also be used as a signal source for Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
