A rapid reliable MULTITEST test (without the need for a POCT machine) for the detection of Influenza A and B antigen and SARS-CoV-2 in nasal/nasopharyngeal swab samples. Swab tests are diagnostic tests that usually use a sample taken from the patient's nasopharynx to detect specific viruses or bacteria. The 3in1 Influenza A/B/SARS-CoV-2 swab test is a combined test for Influenza A, Influenza B and SARS-CoV-2, allowing the diagnosis of these three different infections simultaneously. The advantages of these combination tests include rapid results and the ability to diagnose multiple infections with one test. However, it is important to consider that the sensitivity and specificity of these tests may be affected by various factors, and the results should be interpreted by a physician.
Influenza A and influenza B are two of the main groups of viruses that cause seasonal flu. It is respiratory viruses that can cause widespread epidemics of respiratory disease. Both types of flu cause similar symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat and fatigue.
Influenza A:
It can infect several host species, including humans, birds and pigs. Birds are considered natural reservoirs of influenza A. It is responsible for the seasonal flu epidemics that regularly occur during the colder months.
Influenza B:
In contrast to influenza A, influenza B is primarily restricted to humans. It does not have such a wide range of hosts. Influenza B plays a role in seasonal influenza epidemics, although its course may be less intense than that of influenza A.
SARS-CoV-2 is a new coronavirus that has been identified as the causative agent of COVID-19.
TEST STEP
Allow the test cartridge, sample and antigen extraction buffer to recalibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C) before testing. 1. A) (Nasopharyngeal collection) - Ask the patient to remove secretions to the surface at the anterior nares, keep the head slightly tilted and gently and slowly insert the collection brush through the nasal cavity into the nasopharynx. When you encounter resistance, you have reached the back of the nasopharynx, stay for a few seconds to absorb secretions and gently twist to pull out the brush. B) (Collection from the edge of the nostril) - Ask the patient to remove secretions on the surface of the anterior nasal cavity, keep the head slightly tilted and gently and slowly insert the collection brush into the anterior nasal cavity(nostril) and rotate several times for proper collection of epithelial cells from the mucus. Stay for a few seconds to absorb the secretions and then gently twist to pull out the brush. C) (Saliva sampling) - Make sure there is no food residue in the mouth before sampling. If the patient has just eaten, ask them to gargle or brush their teeth. Remove the wrapper and hold the swab on your tongue until the tip is completely soaked with saliva (at least two minutes). 2. Place the antigen extraction tube on the workbench. Place the vial of antigen extraction buffer vertically down, squeeze the vial so that the buffer drips freely into the extraction tube without touching the edge of the tube, and add 8 drops (about 300 μl) to the extraction tube. 3. Place the swab sample into the extraction tube with the antigen extraction buffer added beforehand and swirl the swab stick approximately 10 times. Press the head of the swab against the wall of the tube to release the antigen from the swab, then leave it for about one minute. 4. Pull out the stick while squeezing the tip of the swab to get as much fluid out of the swab as possible. Dispose of used swabs in accordance with bio-waste disposal methods. 5. Install the drip tray on the extraction tube and close it tightly and let it stand for about 1 minute. 6. Open the aluminium foil pouch and remove the test cartridge, add 3 k of apka (approximately 100 μl) to the sample slot on the test cartridge (or add 100 μl using a pipette) and start the timer. 7. Wait for the result of the reagent test. The result should be read in 15 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 20 minutes.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
For the COVID-19 antigen test kit
NEGATIVE: If only the C line is visible, the absence of any burgundy colour in the T band indicates that no COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) antigen was detected in the sample. The result is negative.
POSITIVE: If a T lineage is developed in addition to the C lineage, the test indicates the presence of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) antigen in the sample. The result is positive for COVID-19.
Repeat the positive test result using the second COVID-19 Test Kit. A positive result must be verified by PCR. Contact your doctor to make an appointment for a COVID-19 PCR test.
NOT PAID: The control line is not displayed. Insufficient sample volume or incorrect procedures are the most likely reasons for control line failure. Check the procedure and repeat the test with a new test cartridge. If the problem persists, stop using the test set immediately and contact your local distributor.
For Influenza A/B antigen test kit
NEGATIVE: If only band C is present, the absence of any burgundy colour in band T means that no influenza A/B antigen has been detected in the sample. The result is negative.
POSITIVE Influenza A/B positive: If, in addition to the presence of lineage C, lineages A and B are developed simultaneously, It means, that the sample contains both influenza A virus antigen the influenza B virus antigen, that is, that the result is positive for influenza A and influenza B.
Influenza A positive: If lineage A is developed in addition to lineage C, the test indicates the presence of influenza A antigen in the sample, meaning that the result is positive for influenza A.
Influenza B positive: If a B lineage is developed in addition to the presence of a C lineage, the test indicates the presence of influenza B antigen in the sample, meaning that the result is positive for influenza B.
NOT PAID: The control line is not displayed. Insufficient sample volume or incorrect procedures are the most likely reasons for control line failure. Check the procedure and repeat the test with a new test cartridge. If the problem persists, stop using the test set immediately and contact your local distributor.
