NIKWAX cotton proof 300 ml
NIKWAX Cotton Proof is an impregnator for cotton and cotton blend clothing and equipment. This safe, easy-to-use and highly effective impregnation is an indispensable product for all those who are outdoors, whether they need to treat a fishing apron, a cotton-polyester jacket or a canvas tent. It gives the fabric a permanent hydrophobicity, preventing water absorption, reducing weight gain and maintaining the breathability of the material in wet weather. NIKWAX Cotton Proof has been specially designed and optimized for breathable cotton, cotton/polyester blends and sails. The product can be easily and quickly applied during machine and hand washing. The impregnation is suitable for canvas and cotton tents, shelters, umbrellas, etc.

Use:
The best results are achieved if you first clean (wash) the fabric in Tech Wash in a separate wash cycle. You will preserve the impregnation life of your clothing and equipment for longer. Clothes and equipment do not need to be dried before impregnation. Shake well before use. Respect the symbols on the product label.
Applications in the washing machine:
Remove any remaining detergent build-up from the dispenser. Put clean clothes in the washing machine. Use 50 ml for one garment, 100 ml for two garments and 150 ml for three garments. Set the washing programme to cotton, following the instructions on the product label. Leave to hang freely or tumble dry if the symbols provided by the manufacturer allow it.
Handheld applications:
For manual application, use gloves. Immerse clean clothes in a container or basin with 6 litres of lukewarm water. Use 50 ml for one garment and 100 ml for two garments. Rinse, let soak for five minutes and then rinse again thoroughly. Soak in cold water until the water is completely clear. Leave to hang freely or tumble dry if the symbols provided by the manufacturer allow it.
Impregnation of tents:
Recommended quantity for tents and equipment: Tents should be treated preferably erected, other equipment in a clean protected area. Use 9 parts lukewarm water to 1 part detergent and mix well. Use approximately 50 ml of Cotton Proof per 3 m2 of fabric before dilution. Apply the diluted product evenly to the outside of the fabric with a spray, brush or sponge. Impregnate large areas in parts. Apply the product over the entire surface of the material. Check carefully that you have impregnated all parts of the material. Check after a few minutes and remove any excess product with a clean damp cloth. Consumption is approximate, depending on the condition of the fabric being treated.
