The 1:24 scale RC model of the Axial SCX24 Deadbolt 4WD mini car is suitable not only for beginners. It can climb rocks, handle tough climbs, and the SCX24 chassis is equipped with three-point front and four-point rear suspension. The realism is underlined by the body with driver. It is fully equipped with RC kit, battery and charger. The SCX24 Deadbolt 4WD is Axial's first 1:24 scale offroad car. It is fully assembled and equipped with electronics, drive and charger, and includes batteries for the transmitter. Just charge the battery and you're good to go. Like its big brother, the 1:10 SCX10 II, this smaller version uses a range of steel components, from the C-profile frame rails to the front and rear axle shafts and output shafts. The SCX24's chassis features 3-point front and 4-point rear suspension, rigid axles and worm gears giving the model incredible power to tackle steep climbs.

The SCX24 Deadbolt kit includes a Dynamite 88T DC motor, 350 mAh 2S 7.4V LiPol battery and USB LiPol charger. The Dynamite 88T electric motor has optimum power that transmits high torque to the wheels thanks to the gears. It is mounted on a steel motor mount to prevent warping and help protect the gears. The Axial AE-6 combo receiver/controller and Axial AS-1 servo control unit are installed. Directly above the front axle is the Axial AS-1 servo steering system with servosaver, which allows for precise steering while providing protection for the gears and servo electronics in the event of a lock-up or impact. The car has licensed KMC XD229 Machete Crawl wheels with Nitto Trail Grappler tyres.

Like the platform of the larger 1:10 scale SCX10 II chassis, the SCX24 chassis has robust C-profile steel frame stringers to ensure high rigidity and strength of the chassis. The front and rear differentials are worm-geared to ensure maximum power is transferred to the axles, while also providing constant braking when the car stops. Small dimensions allow to create more headroom. The high torque of the worm gear requires the use of steel drive shafts. Only these can transmit power to the wheels even on hard climbs. The front and rear drive shafts from the central gearbox to the differentials are 2 spline, allowing maximum axial movement of the shafts while maintaining power transfer. Although it is a small model, even in this scale the shock absorbers play an indispensable role in damping the shock during driving. For greater realism, they are mock-ups with simulated tanks. The front and rear rigid axles consist of two-piece moulded plastic, which houses the drive shafts in ball bearings.

The officially licensed KMC XD Machete wheels are legendary in the off-road world. They are molded in black and have stunning detail, despite the small scale. Officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires offer an excellent combination of off-road performance while maintaining excellent on-road performance. Also included are two LED lights that are mounted in the front bumper. An extra LED light connector on the control unit allows you to add additional optional LED lights.

The bodywork is mounted on a pivot pin for easy access to the on-board components. You can quickly replace or charge the battery and chassis by removing just two clips and flipping the body up. The suspension geometry uses a 4-point design for the rear of the car, which is optimized for maximum axle twist when driving while maintaining torque. Although it is a small model, it is equipped with ball bearings just like a big car. No plain bearings, only ball bearings. If you drive in a wet environment, don't forget to maintain and lubricate.
For normal operation of the Axial RC car you need tyre glue, bolt glue and a tool kit. The model also uses screws in inch units, so a 1/20" Allen screwdriver is recommended. Tyre adhesive is used to glue the tyres to the rim of the disc. It is always necessary to ensure that the tyre is firmly glued to the wheel rim around its entire circumference. If the tyre is not glued all the way around, the tyre may tear. The tyre adhesive has a special formulation that is able to bond materials such as rubber or nylon, while at the same time making the adhesive flexible once it has set. Robitronic Tire Glue is recommended. For routine maintenance, you need to glue the screws. Screws screwed into metal material (e.g. screws in the motor, bristles in the pinion) must be secured against loosening with this adhesive.
