The Mustang Boss 302 is a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang originally produced by Ford in 1969 and 1970 along with its more powerful sibling, the Boss 429 Mustang. It was produced for the Trans Am racing series. In 2012, Ford revived the name for this second-generation car produced from 2012 to 2013. Ford engineers and development team tweaked the standard 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT, amusingly referring to it as the 'Road Runner' engine. Engine upgrades included a forged rotating assembly, CNC ported heads, revised camshafts, and a high-flow runner-in-the-box intake taken from the 302R race car. It produces 444 horsepower - 32 more than the standard GT's 412 horsepower. Drive is transmitted to the rear axle with limited slip differential via a 6-speed manual transmission (MT-82).
