The board game Glimmerwood takes you into a magical forest full of mysterious wisps and flickering lights, where a curious cat sets out to discover their magical world. This strategy game is designed for 1 to 4 players aged 10 and up, and one game takes about 45 minutes. During the game, each player builds their own forest using will-o'-the-wisp and tree tiles, which they place on their personal grid, trying to best meet the scoring conditions.

Every turn brings a new decision. You choose not only the wisp, but also the shape that will influence the further development of your forest. Different types of wisps and magical trees have their own specific requirements. The game's dynamics are also enlivened by variable wish cards and changing game conditions between rounds. You can also enjoy Glimmerwood in solo mode.
Detailed description of the Glimmerwood game
The core of Glimmerwood is the selection and placement of tiles, where players take turns taking wisps from the central pool, each offering two possible shape variations composed of a wisp and tree tiles. You then place the chosen shape on your forest grid, which gradually expands from 4×4 to 6×6 over three rounds. The cat plays an important role; it starts on the starting tree and, with the right timing, you can hide it to activate one of two powerful actions. You can either refresh the supply of wisps in the pool or choose any available shape without restriction. Once the cat is hidden, it cannot be used again until you make a tree move, which allows you to place 1 to 3 tree tiles and get the cat ready for play again. The game is played over three rounds, and the player with the most points wins. An app can be used for the final scoring of Glimmerwood.
