The Sledge RC car model is designed to surpass the current standards and become the best crafted, durable and fun RC model. Powered by 6S LiPo and a powerful brushless motor, the Sledge can reach speeds of up to 112 km/h, making it one of the fastest 1:8 scale models. All components have been rigorously designed and tested for hundreds of hours to achieve maximum quality. The parts are beautifully shaped, assembled and the plastic parts are precisely integrated into the metal chassis. You can have a lot of fun with the model during free riding in the terrain, jumping in the skatepark, or thanks to its excellent handling and low centre of gravity even on the racetrack. Maximum durability, precision and easy maintenance
The chassis of the model consists of a blue anodized aluminium chassis plate. The chassis is consistently reinforced in exposed areas such as the neck of the axles. A new centre brace and additional transverse bracing leading to the aluminium shock towers are used. The drive train uses generously dimensioned metal gears. The suspension has been completely redesigned with classic heavy-duty tie rods, new arm covers, adjustable suspension and GT Maxx high-performance blue anodised aluminium shock absorbers. Premium SledgeHammer wheels ensure perfect traction. Battery change is lightning fast, thanks to the clipless body clamp and patented battery compartment bulkhead. The latest electronics are used for propulsion and steering along with a powerful 2000Kv brushless motor. The VXL-6 controller provides all the telemetry you can view on your phone (Bluetooth module must be added to the transmitter, sold separately). The receiver is equipped with exclusive TSM electronic stabilization technology to assist with model control. Of course, a wide range of accessories is available, including complete spare and tuning parts.
Aluminium chassis, powertrain
The chassis of the RC model consists of a lightweight and durable 3.2 mm thick aluminium plate. The edges are contoured along the entire length for added strength. The giant front and rear cross braces, attached at six points, provide increased resistance at the most exposed points of the model's impact, which are the chassis necks at the suspension. A patented T-shaped centre brace is used for overall connection and reinforcement. Like the chassis and centre brace, the shock towers are aluminium with a beautiful blue anodising. The extreme power of the engine is transmitted to the wheels via a sufficiently sized drivetrain that has been designed for long life. Solid steel gears and three differentials with metal gears transfer power to high-strength steel half-shafts. Smooth running CV joints are used on the front axle. The centre shafts are fitted with a sleeve to keep the oil in so the joints are always lubricated.
Front, rear and centre differential, GT-Maxx oil shock absorbers
The power is distributed among the individual wheels by three metal-geared differentials, which are mounted in ball bearings. The centre differential is filled with thick oil to provide adequate clamping and to distribute power evenly between the axles. The front and rear differentials use beefier steel gears, which are 20% larger and 75% thicker compared to conventional types in this category. Four extra-large GT-Maxx shock absorbers effectively absorb even the hardest impacts. The oil-filled aluminium shock body is threaded and nutted for easy spring preload adjustment. To prevent oil leakage around the piston rod, the damper is equipped with double X-rings.
Axles with robust drawbars, engine bed
The Sledge is equipped with a brand new front suspension with C-shaped wishbones. The parts are large and robust while maintaining precise geometry. Solid hardened steel hinge pins are secured with lock nuts for added safety. To change the suspension settings, simply unscrew the couplers. The engine bed is cast aluminium and provides full length support for the engine. In addition, the bed efficiently dissipates heat through the chassis and is equipped with an integrated fan holder. The fan can be purchased as tuning part TRA3476.
SledgeHammer tyres and battery bed
The model uses 3.8" spoke wheels with 6.7" SledgeHammer tyres, which were inspired by motocross. The high rigid tread ensures long life and durability. The tyres have an improved wheel connection system. So far, the tyres on Traxxas have been available as a tuning part. Now they are already in the base for the model. Changing the battery is easy and lightning fast, thanks to the snap-in bulkhead. The battery stays firmly in place even in the hardest impacts.
Superior traction, performance and durability on any terrain
The proven Sledgehammer tread pattern provides maximum traction on a variety of surfaces, especially rough terrain, gravel and grass. Sledgehammer tires feature a lightweight belt in the carcass that prevents bulging at high speeds for rock-solid confidence and stability. The all-new Traxxas 2275 waterproof steering servo has a massive 25 kg of force. cm. The servo is equipped with metal gears, two ball bearings for smooth operation and a metal centre box for efficient cooling.The model is powered by a powerful 2000 rpm brushless motor with a robust 5 mm shaft. The 4-pole design gives the motor smooth operation with smooth acceleration. The motor is equipped with a metal body for efficient cooling even under high load. Supplemented with gold-plated 6.5 mm connectors.
VXL-6S controller, real-time telemetry
RC model car is equipped with VXL-6S AC controller. The regulator is with input voltage 4S-6S LiPo (max: 25.2 volts) and allows easy one-button setup, and status indication is provided by an LED, while heat dissipation by a massive heat sink and fan. The exclusive controller with advanced electronics is equipped for real-time telemetry measurements. Using a wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, you can monitor speed, engine speed and battery voltage directly in real time on your phone. The controller provides telemetry data and no additional sensors are required.
Traxxas TQi RC kit with Bluetooth ready
Traxxas has a brand new range of dual channel RC kits with Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth module (sold separately), allows you to connect your RC model to the Traxxas Link graphical app, which you can install on your Smartphone for free. The Traxxas Link app for Apple devices is available for free on the AppStore, the app for Google Android devices is free on GooglePlay. The Traxxas Link App is a powerful app that gives you total control over the operation and tuning of your Traxxas RC model with stunning visuals and absolute precision settings. Traxxas Link can display telemetry data, which provides a real-time model, such as speed, revolutions, temperature, battery voltage and tilt of the model (telemetry provided varies according to the specific model type). You can share RC model settings, create as many profiles as you want for a specific track or user, e.g. Kids. All in an app with brilliant graphics, which is a standard feature from Traxxas. Telemetry options vary by model. To obtain telemetry data, it may be necessary to install telemetry sensors.
Traxxas TQi receiver, Traxxas Stability Management
RC receiver Traxxas TQi 5 kan. The TSM with telemetry for Traxxas TQi transmitters offers simple operation, push-button pairing and LED status indication. 3-axis MEMS sensors are integrated in the receiver to learn the position of the receiver. The 5-channel receiver is also equipped with two connectors for connecting telemetry sensors RPM (speed) and V/T (voltage/temperature). In addition, a telemetry expansion module can be connected to the 4-pin connector, which can accommodate up to 6 additional sensors, including a high-precision GPS speed sensor. The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) system not only allows you to experience power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speeds, but also makes it much easier to steer and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow. In the receiver there is a MEMS 3-axis gyro and accelerometer, which evaluates the movement of the model 100 times per second and corrects the direction of travel of the model by appropriate interventions in the steering of the front wheels. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power - you have 100% control over engine power. The algorithms are tuned for each model separately. Assistance level is set using the multi-function controller on the transmitter or the Traxxas Link app, if applicable. When the model gets into a roll, there are protective plastic elements on the body to protect the body from scratches or breakage. When the plastic parts wear out, simply replace them. The rear wing provides high downforce to give you plenty of traction even at high speeds. The body is equipped with a frame on the inside, which serves as a brace when the model is overturned
Accessories for normal operation
For the normal operation of a Traxxas RC car you need bolt glue, good quality tyre glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers. Screw glue is applied to the thread or head of the screw to fix it and the vibrations caused by driving will not allow the screw joint to loosen. The screw adhesive has a special formulation that allows the screw joint to be easily loosened with adequate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use regular instant glue, as it may be impossible to loosen a screw that is glued in this way. Tyre adhesive is used to glue the tyres to the rim of the disc. It is always necessary to ensure that the tyre is firmly glued to the wheel rim around its entire circumference. If the tyre is not glued all the way around, the tyre may tear. The tyre adhesive has a special formulation that is able to bond materials such as rubber or nylon, while at the same time making the adhesive flexible once it has set.
Occasionally it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers of the model. There are only slight leaks of silicone oil down the piston rods of the shock absorber. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage can be large. For these cases, so-called. repair kits. In the tuning parts range, all shock absorbers are supplied with extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coated piston rods. The TiN-coated piston rods are easily recognizable by their golden-green colour. Traxxas universal chargers can charge Traxxas LiPo and NiMH batteries. Traxxas chargers are a simple and safe way to charge batteries. Traxxas uses the unique iD system, so you can always be sure that everything is plugged in easily and safely. There is an integrated chip in the battery connector that the Traxxas charger automatically detects and sets all battery charging parameters for you.
