Underwater: Great Barrier Reef

Board games

Explore the diverse marine life of the Great Barrier Reef

Reef, the board game, transports you to the underwater world off the northeast coast of Australia, home to the largest coral reef system on the planet. Each player gets their own piece of the sea, which they will gradually populate with underwater life, fish, and corals. The survival of all the reef's inhabitants depends on their mutual symbiosis, so you need to place the pieces on the game board according to the rules on the cards to help the corals and animals thrive. Despite its simple rules, Reef can give your brain a workout. Thanks to a variable selection of sea creatures and ecosystem cards, every game is different. Reef, a game by Roxley, is designed for 1 to 4 players aged 14 and up. One game takes approximately 30 minutes.

High replayability thanks to variable game elements

For each game, you choose 10 of the 22 possible species of sea creatures and 2 ecosystem cards, which change the victory point system. This makes every game slightly different, with a different strategy. The rules also include a solo mode, a simplified family variant, and scenarios with interesting challenges to complete. In Reef, you score victory points for completed corals, species diversity, clever placement of fish, or by fulfilling ecosystem cards. With each turn, your piece of the sea transforms into a more vibrant, thriving ecosystem with corals and fish living in mutual symbiosis.
