The TP-Link EAP650 D30-Outdoor outdoor WiFi access point uses the Wi-Fi 6 standard (802.11ax) and provides a total dual-band data transfer speed of up to 2976Mbps, split between 2402Mbps on the 5GHz band and 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. This WiFi 6 access point is designed for outdoor deployment, where its high-gain directional antennas create targeted long-range coverage. To efficiently serve more than 250 clients simultaneously, it uses MU-MIMO and DL/UL OFDMA technologies, while its management is handled centrally via the Omada cloud platform. Its weather resistance is confirmed by an IP68 rating and a wide operating temperature range from -30°C to +70°C.

Wi-Fi 6 performance and directional coverage
The access point uses the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which operates on two frequency bands. It reaches transfer speeds of up to 2402Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. To optimise data flow, it uses DL/UL MU-MIMO and DL/UL OFDMA technologies for simultaneous communication with multiple devices. Four built-in high-gain directional antennas (2× 12dBi for 2.4GHz and 2× 15dBi for 5GHz) create tightly focused coverage at a 30° angle, both horizontally and vertically. In addition, the Beamforming function actively directs the signal towards connected clients, strengthening connection stability over long distances.
Mesh technology and network management
Integrated support for Omada Mesh technology and 802.11k/v/r standards contributes to seamless client roaming between access points without connection dropouts. Centralised management via the Omada SDN platform lets you configure and monitor the network from anywhere through a web interface, a hardware controller, or the Omada mobile app. This centralisation simplifies the management of large networks, and the device can serve more than 250 concurrently connected clients.
Security and advanced network features
Modern encryption standards, including WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise, protect the wireless network. The access point also supports older versions: WPA-Personal, WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Personal, and WPA2-Enterprise. Network administrators have access control tools available, such as MAC address filtering, client isolation, and SSID-to-VLAN mapping. Other security features include Rogue AP Detection, which actively protects the corporate infrastructure from external threats and unauthorised access.
Durability and connectivity options
Thanks to its durable IP68-rated housing, the access point offers complete protection against dust and water. A wide operating temperature range from -30°C to 70°C, together with a mounting kit for wall, pole, or ceiling installation, proves its suitability for demanding weather conditions. A single Gigabit Ethernet port connects it to the network and also supplies power to the device. Support for both 802.3at PoE and 48V Passive PoE simplifies installation in outdoor areas without needing a separate power cable.
