By installing this cable, you can replace the original USB cable and connect the Virtuos HT-865A barcode reader to the RS-232 (Canon9) serial port. If the cash register provides 5V power via pin 9 of the Canon 9 connector, the scanner can be powered directly from the cash register; otherwise, an external power supply (HDB0020) or power adapter (HAC0093) can be added to the cable.
