AMD has announced a new line of desktop processors at the CES 2018. It is a new Raven Ridge series, that combines four Zen generation CPU cores with the latest, most advanced ‘Vega’ graphics technology in a single chip. The AMD Ryzen 5 2400G processor will not only become a popular choice for less demanding multimedia homes, but also a perfect solution for a custom build PCs without a need for a standalone graphics card.

Raven Ridge APU

Same as the preceding Ryzen processor, the Ryzen 5 2400G is based on AMD's Zen microarchitecture and is fabricated on a 14nm process. As a result, the cores operate at a base frequency of 3.6GHz with a TDP of 65W and a Boost frequency of 3.9GHz. The main advantage is a massive use of SMT technology, similar to MultiThreading technology, which ensures smooth processing of two threads per core.

Furthermore, the integrated Radeon RX Vega 11 processor graphics, with 704 stream processors, delivers fast, smooth and fluid performance on the games you love to play.

Get ready for a big upgrade

The AMD Raven Ridge series is designed for the AM4 socket, so chances are that in addition to the processor itself, you may want to invest in a new motherboard and possibly some DDR4 memory with a maximum frequency of 2933Mhz. Môžem tento procesor osadiť do základnej dosky Asrock B450m steel legend? Bez toho abi procesor nerobil žiadne sarapati. Abi fungoval tak ako ma a hlavne abi fungovala aj jeho integrovaná grafická karta Vopred ďakujem za opdoved

AMD Raven Ridge a Ryzen 2000, prečo a ako updatovať BIOS?

Staršie, ale aj nové základné dosky s päticou AM4 síce podporujú nové procesory Raven Ridge, ale až po aktualizácii BIOS/UEFI. Ide síce o pomerne jednoduchú záležitosť, ale ak nemáte kompatibilný procesor po ruke, máte smolu. Nechajte si základnú dosku otestovať skúsenými technikmi z Alzy. Jedine tak budete mať záruku, že vám nové procesory AMD pobežia úplne bez problémov.
